Akela's Den Mushers

Stefaan has been standing on the runners for more than 7 years. He has run many mid-distance races over those years, including the Canadian Challenge, the Neckbone 150, the Percy Dewolfe, and the Caladonia Classic. He and his dog team are now eager to try additional races, some of which will include races in the United States.

Bart finished his rookie year with a victory in the 6-dog Canadian Challenge. Yet, he realizes that he still has a lot to learn! He will be our backbone, running mostly our younger dogs and he looks forward to following in his brother’s foot steps in mid-distance racing.

Tanja has competed in some local races, and also placed well in the 6-dog Canadian Challenge. Although she has not raced extensively, she has been on the runners for 7 years guiding for Sundogs Sled Excursions. She is looking forward to a come back on the race trail soon!
